Two articles appeared on FT.com in 2009 discussing the need for boardroom diversity: "How to build diversity on boards" (May 18, 2009) and "Diversity fails to end boardroom groupthink" (May 26, 2009).

The former recommends advertising directorships and searching for potential candidates beyond the traditional networks of chairmen and headhunters, in order to drive increased diversity. The latter discusses how boards that do not reflect the society their organization represents are subject to "groupthink".
