June 2021 - Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of José Virella as Chief Financial Officer at Philadelphia FIGHT in Philadelphia.

Philadelphia FIGHT is a dynamic and comprehensive health services organization. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and social service organization, Philadelphia FIGHT provides primary care, mental health, and dental care to anyone who needs care, regardless of ability to pay. FIGHT’s Community Health Centers focus on providing care to marginalized and vulnerable populations, operating seven healthcare sites. Dedicated primarily to low-income individuals, people living with HIV/AIDS and to those at high risk. FIGHT’s mission is to provide clients with state-of-the-art, culturally competent HIV specialty care, primary care, consumer education, advocacy, social services, outreach, and access to the most advanced clinical research.

José joins Philadelphia FIGHT from Hetrick-Martin Institute, in New York City, where he served as Chief Operating and Financial Officer providing leadership and direction for Finance, IT, Facilities, Human Resources and Operations functions for the social service agency. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer at Metro Community Health Centers and Chief Financial Officer at Ryan Health and Callen-Lorde Community Health Center. Earlier in his career, José served as SVP of Finance and Administration at Jewish Communal Fund and Department Administer at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia. José holds a Master’s in Education from Temple University in Adult & Organizational Development, an MBA from University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia University. 

José is a highly accomplished finance leader who has been successful in startup, maintenance, and turnaround situations. He has a keen ability to assess organizational challenges, develop and implement effective solutions to create viable opportunities. As Chief Financial Officer at Philadelphia FIGHT, José will be a key member of the executive team and will partner with the CEO, Board, and staff to develop and implement strong financial strategies across the organization.
